YES, this service is an "Always ON" .There are no phone lines, analog modems or other limitations to getting on the service.

What equipment does a customer need? 
The residential customer utilizes an antenna and a wireless modem attached to their PC. The businesses customer utilizes an antenna with cabling to a wireless routing device.

What's included in the set-up?
The start-up kit includes install CD, antenna, wireless modem and 50’ of cable. 

What do you use to deliver the data?
Broadband spectrum frequencies deliver the signal within a community and microwave frequencies deliver the signal between communities.

Is the service affected by adverse weather such as heavy rains or snow?
No. Unlike Ku band satellite technology (the technology used with most entertainment satellites), ChicagoNet uses high frequency radio waves, which are not affected by heavy rains or snows.

What are the computer requirements? 
You simply need a Pentium class PC with 133 MHZ or higher, 32 MB of RAM, 20 MB of free disk space. One open PCI slot or a USB port.
